Boards, Brie & Southern Beauty

The Story Behind Spartanburg
Charcuterie Company

If you’ve ever laid eyes on a perfectly styled grazing board from Spartanburg Charcuterie Company, you know it’s more than just food—it’s a work of edible art, sprinkled with Southern charm and served with heart.

Founded by Tamara Siders, Spartanburg Charcuterie Company (lovingly shortened to SCCO) was inspired by a simple but meaningful joy: gathering. “I’ve always loved bringing people together over beautiful, intentional food,” Tamara says. “What started as a hobby creating boards for friends quickly became a way to serve the community in a more meaningful way.”

While Tamara’s professional background is rooted in mental health and nonprofit work, her passion for creating beautiful moments through food has always been close to home. “Food has always been my love language,” she shares. “Whether it’s Sunday brunch with friends or celebrating a milestone, I’ve always loved the art of entertaining.” Charcuterie became the perfect outlet to combine her love of creativity, connection, and hospitality into one joyful—and delicious—venture.

Each SCCO board is uniquely made with a Southern flair, right down to the details. “We showcase Southern flavor in both presentation and product,” Tamara says. “Whether it’s local honey, pimento cheese, or our Carolina Corner filled with regionally sourced goods, every board reflects a taste of the South.” Beyond the ingredients, it’s the care, the kindness, and the attention to detail that truly define what it means to be Made in the South.

SCCO offers a variety of stunning options—from grab-and-go grazing boxes to full-scale luxe grazing tables for weddings, showers, and corporate events. “Our grazing tables are definitely a showstopper,” Tamara notes. “But our signature grazing boxes are a fan favorite too.” Seasonal boxes and specialty offerings like the “Brie-Easy” skillet series bring an elevated feel to any gathering, whether you’re celebrating big or staying cozy at home.

And some celebrations stand out more than others. “One of my favorite moments was creating a custom board for a proposal picnic—complete with heart-shaped cheeses and the couple’s favorite snacks,” Tamara recalls. “Seeing our food become part of such a personal, life-changing moment was incredibly special and reminded me how powerful shared meals can be.”

So, how do you get your hands on one of these gorgeous grazing creations? Easy! You can place an order through the website at www.spartanburgcharcuterie.com, or reach out via Instagram or Facebook at @spartanburgcharcuterie. Prefer a good old-fashioned phone call? Big things are coming this fall with the opening of SCCO’s new storefront at 14 Mill Street in downtown Inman, SC. “The space will feature our signature charcuterie offerings, a curated Southern pantry, and creative small bites like warm skillets and flatbreads,” Tamara says. “Our hope is to create a destination—somewhere people can gather, graze, and feel at home.”

To Tamara, Southern hospitality means more than just a friendly smile—it’s about making every person feel seen and celebrated. “Whether it’s a handwritten thank-you note or remembering a client’s favorite cheese, we infuse kindness and care into every detail,” she says. “It’s about creating not just beautiful boards, but memorable experiences.”

And if you’re inspired to try your hand at charcuterie at home? Tamara says to start with color and contrast. “Use a mix of textures—soft cheeses, crunchy nuts, fresh fruit—and don’t be afraid to add something unexpected like a drizzle of hot honey or a few edible flowers. And above all, make it personal. Boards are as much about the vibe as they are the food.”

From proposal picnics to full-on feasts, Spartanburg Charcuterie Company is helping the Upstate gather better—one board at a time. Whether you’re celebrating big or savoring the small stuff, this woman-owned business is proof that the heart of the South is best served on a platter.

A drizzle of hot honey, a few edible flowers, or chocolate-covered almonds can elevate your board instantly.

4. Make it personal.
Include your favorite snack, a local product you love, or a nod to your guests’ favorites.
