The Art of Revelation
How Hannah P. Morris Paints with Purpose
Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Hannah P. Morris grew up Southern to the core—but her journey into the world of art wasn’t quite traditional. A former teacher and corporate leader turned full-time artist, Hannah’s story is one of loss, faith, and transformation. Now based in Birmingham, she creates spirit-led abstract artwork that blends beauty, mystery, and deep spiritual truths.
“During my ninth year working for lululemon, I witnessed the tragic death of a child we were very close to,” Hannah shares. “It changed the trajectory of my life. I left my job to focus on my family, and in the depths of grief, I turned to painting as a creative outlet.”
What began as healing in her basement soon became a calling. Painting to worship music and guided by quiet moments with God, Hannah discovered something deeper than a hobby—she found purpose.
Her work is hard to describe in one word. “I would say my style is modern, abstract-spiritual,” she explains. “It’s rooted in Scripture and symbolic form, blending emotive color and texture with contemplative depth.” Through her collections—like Rooted, Eternal Rock, Many Rooms, and now REVEALED—her art becomes a visual meditation: rich in texture, led by color, and inspired by divine revelation.
Hannah is clear that she’s not painting alone. “Every time I paint, it’s a form of worship,” she says. “The Holy Spirit is necessary for me to create. Most mornings, I get up at 4am to spend time with God before my kids wake up. He often whispers a verse or a promise, and that becomes the inspiration behind a piece.”
Her latest collection, REVEALED, is a bold celebration of that divine partnership. “This collection was such a fun one to create with God,” Hannah says. “It’s based on Jeremiah 29:13—‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’ For a lot of people, the Bible feels hard to understand. But when we ask the Holy Spirit for help, He brings clarity and understanding. REVEALED is a way to express that truth in a way that feels colorful and approachable.”
For Hannah, being “Made in the South” means more than sweet tea and Southern charm—it’s about deeply rooted values. “Faith, hospitality, resilience—those are Southern at their core,” she says. “My Southern roots have shaped my worldview, my pace, and my love for people. It shows up in every brushstroke.”
The most meaningful part of her artistic journey? “When someone tells me my work encouraged them to seek God or spend time in Scripture,” she says. “That’s everything. If even one person draws closer to Him through what I do, it’s worth it.”
