The Artful World of Eliza Price

There’s something about spring that makes us want to surround ourselves with beauty—bright blooms, bold colors, and the feeling of fresh possibility. Enter Eliza Price: a Charlotte-based artist whose work captures all of that and more in each joyful brushstroke. From watercolor to collage to “whatever she’s into at the moment,” Eliza is a creative force whose art and energy are as inspiring as the season itself.

Her journey began at the kitchen table—literally.

Sent home from college during the early days of the pandemic, Eliza found solace and spark in painting beside her mom. “It became such a great outlet,” she says. “A way to keep exploring art even with no art classes happening.” What started as a simple Instagram account to share her work quickly evolved into a full-blown art business—Eliza Price Art. Last month, she celebrated five years since her very first release. “It’s wild and wonderful to look back,” she reflects.

Eliza’s pieces are full of playful color, feminine energy, and just the right amount of whimsy. Whether she’s painting polka-dotted quail or experimenting with saturated acrylics, her work invites viewers to see the familiar in a fresh way. “If I look down at the paper and feel giddy, I know I’m onto something,” she laughs. That instinctual joy is part of what makes her art so magnetic—and so relatable.

We asked Eliza about the women who’ve inspired her most, and unsurprisingly, her answer came straight from the heart. “My mom, without question,” she says. “She taught me to find beauty in everything—from blooming flowers to the color palette of a chip bag. That sense of wonder has shaped the way I approach both life and art.”

In many ways, Eliza’s story is the perfect tribute to Mother’s Day and to the theme of this issue: Women Who Inspire. She not only finds inspiration in the women around her, but she gives it back through her art and outlook. One of our favorite quotes from her interview?

“I always say she’s my favorite artist—not just for what she makes, but for how she appreciates beauty every day.”

We know so many of our readers will resonate with that sentiment.

Now based in Charlotte, Eliza splits her time between painting and working for an interior designer— an arrangement that keeps her surrounded by beautiful textiles, color stories, and creative ideas.

“Even something simple, like the daffodils blooming outside my office, sparked my most recent body of work,” she says. Nature, especially, fuels her imagination. “Whether it’s a walk in the woods or a trip back to St.

Simons Island, Georgia, being outdoors always recharges my creative battery.”

And when she’s not in the studio? You’ll find her cozying up at Backyard Brew with an iced Hornet’s Nest latte, catching up with friends, or basking in the sunshine. “Saturday mornings are sacred,” she says. “I’m a creature of cozy routines.”

As we head into summer and celebrate the women who shape us, Eliza Price reminds us that inspiration can come from anywhere— your mom, your hometown, a sunny walk, or a quirky collage.

You just have to be open to the magic.
